Eligibility Criteria
Prize Categories¶
The 2026–2027 Connectomics Research Competition is open to students worldwide and features two prize categories.
High School Category¶
This category is intended for students who, as of October 31, 2026, are:
Currently enrolled in high school, including students in Grades 9–12, Years 10–13, or equivalent pre-university levels; or
Taking a gap year after completing high school; and
Have not yet begun post-secondary studies (e.g., college, university, or equivalent).
Undergraduate Category¶
This category is intended for students who, as of October 31, 2026, are:
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution (e.g., college or university); and
Have not yet completed their first undergraduate degree.
Students enrolled in undergraduate-entry professional programs (e.g., MBBS or equivalent programs entered directly from high school) are eligible to participate in the Undergraduate Category.
However, participants who have already completed an undergraduate degree before October 31, 2026—including those enrolled in graduate-entry medicine, graduate-entry law, master’s programs, PhD programs, or other postgraduate programs—are not eligible for undergraduate prizes.
Everyone, regardless of their age and educational level, is welcome to use our resource and submit for participation certificates!
